Magaguadavic River, Second Falls
Class: III-IV | Length: Park’n’Huck |
Location: Parking | Character: Drop |
Gauge: Waterlevel | Contributor: Matthew Hall |
General Description
This is a great park’n’huck oppertunity. You can park your cars along the side of the road on right right and then climb down to the rocks to scout. It’s strongly recommended that you scout from both sides, as at different levels the left line can look ok from one angle, and very different from the other side.
At 1.7 on the gauge the left line looked very unfriendly, but the right boof was very dooable. The key is to line up right of center being sure to be far enough right to avoid the pton rock, and charge the rock on the right edge of the feature so that when you hit the current pushing hard left, you end up strait.
The left line is usually run closer to 1.0 on the gauge.
Hazards
This is a not insignificant drop, with a large rock in the center of the drop that could result in an injury. At higher water some old parts of a mill would be underwater that could pose entrapment hazards with very bad luck.
